There is always a buzz in the air when the University of Florida and Santa Fe College students come back for the fall semester. Having the students in town increases traffic and wait times, but we are a college town and there is nothing better than having the students back. Gainesville is a small town once you get past the students and a great place to call home. I was one of those students who came to town and never left. My first day of classes was on August 24th, 1992. The same day that Hurricane Andrew hit my hometown of Homestead, FL. I feel in love with Gainesville. As many know it has a way of getting under your skin. I am proud to call it home.
